Pirates of the Caribbean Salazar's Revenge (2017)

in #film7 years ago (edited)

Jack Sparrow is back again. Last appears in the fourth volume of the untidy Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, On Stranger Tides, if Jack Sparrow's story continues. What is clear to producer Jerry Bruckheimer, game adaptation movie rides at Disneyland is still able to produce profits that are not small. So the six-year hiatus from On Stanger Tides, Salazar replied launching this in North America was given a different title, Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Still wearing Johnny Depp who was raised by the Pirates franchise, this time captain Jack Sparrow (played by Depp, of course) had to deal with the Spanish ship captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) who was cursed by devils demonic triangle for Jack's deception in the past. Meanwhile, the son of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth (Keira Knightley), Henry Turner (Brenton Thwaites), who has now grown up determined to free the curse of the father of the Flying Dutchman's mystic ship. Bold capital and determined intentions.

Henry is determined to discover the magic trident of Poseidon that can only be found by reading astrological maps. Fortunately, Henry's encounter with the fugitive girl accused of a wizard, Carina Smyth (Rich Scodelario) made his mission to find a bright spot. Furthermore, they can guess their exciting adventure, absurd and full of digital CGI trick effects that continue to roll.

Frankly, the story of Jack Sparrow's pirate gang feels repetitive and exhausting to follow. Starting from a trilogy that enhances the prestige of this franchise and its main star, until it is extended for money and high demand from the audience, the Pirates of the Caribbean series only repeats the same formula over and over again. Including the great acts of Jack Sparrow's fascinating eye (this is the action of the massive but entertaining Fast Five hard drive crushing), then the enemies are cruelly merciless (bringing Oscar-winning Spanish actor Bardem) to a young man as a companion.
No exception for this Salazar revenge. But one thing that makes it a little better than Shambolic On Stranger Tides is that this brand-new series tries to blend the nostalgic elements of the first film including mere core players from the first volume. Perhaps Jeff Nathanson and Terry Rossio as their scriptwriters try to use a franchise movie formula that tries to give new memories and stories like Jurassic World and Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the success of many old fans and new audiences altogether. It is practically successful and crude at the same time.

This works because for those who follow this series from scratch it may be a bit overwhelming to see Will and Elizabeth's brief appearance on the screen, but also raw because there is no significant development in the groove. Everything is still rushed complete with a coincidence that leads to the place where the groove runs. Included with a plot twist that aims as a surprise on the plot 3/4, but impressed imposed and involving the character Barbossa.

The duo of Norwegian director Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, previously praised for directing a survival drama in the middle of the ocean, Kon Tiki, may have maximized the film to look enthralling on the screen. However, what is the strength of the weak scenario and the repeated impression of this franchise inevitably precludes Salazar's reply from the best series title of this Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Depp still managed to show off Jack Sparrow and charismatic charismatic, careless and funny, may still be convincing with the game frenemyalnya.

Similarly, Scodelario and Thwaites are quite solid. But the character of Iranian actress Golshifteh Faharani who is a magician like Tia Dalma to David Wenham who plays the role of British government officials Like the character of James Norrington from the three early Pirates series, to the unimpressive Paul McCartney's uncomplicated cameo function and impressed in vain. without a clear purpose for the story.

I found Dead Men Tell No Tales to be passably fun and certainly no harder to watch than any of the better-pedigreed blockbusters this year.
