Justice League (2017)

The concept of secrecy of superhero identity now seems outdated. Batman, for example, never revealed his Bruce Wayne identity to people and even members of the Justice League, except to his helpers, Alfred and the audience of course. Batman should still be so, because the mystery is his superhuman strength other than rich. But here he relaxed without a mask. Then what about the dead Superman? This god-god-like death drags the world into chaos and the ever-dreary sky. The Justice League seems to indicate that the world is like doomsday. Its that true? This is not fully realized in the movie, except in the opening scene only. I want to see more about the world without Superman. But we do not discuss the film that was not made is not it?

So, first things first: (1) The Justice League , as we know it, collects all the stars of the DC universe in a movie, (2) slightly better than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , (3) ) (4) despite taking the theme of doomsday (as all Zack Snyder's films), this film is lighter to enjoy, but (5) it is also very generic because it uses a standard superhero movie template and it is not even out of there.

You may have heard that the production process was problematic. Snyder resigned from the production process because of family tragedy and his position was taken over by Joss Whedon who used to work on The Avengers . Although he said it was just "polishing", but Whedon's intervention would have been substantial enough as he later got credit as a scriptwriter with Chris Terrio . Even so, the Justice League still feels like a full movie. Quite coherent. You are a careful audience, probably know which part is being polished by Whedon, but overall the Justice League movie is successful in its mission of gathering champions and presenting team dynamics.

The team's initiators are Batman / Bruce Wayne ( Ben Affleck ) and Wonder Woman / Diana Prince ( Gal Gadot ). Their recruiting targets include Aquaman / Arthur Curry ( Jason Momoa ), the ocean ruler who from his appearance would be hooked on the gym while hearing metal songs, (2) The Flash / Barry Allen ( Ezra Miller ), teenagers who take advantage of the ability to run superfast for fun and by the way he is also a K-popers, and (3) Cyborg / Victor Stone ( Ray Fisher ), a former college athlete who is now a, well , cyborg.

No smoke if no fire. The cause of this super hero gathered was an invasion of a gigantic alien named Steppenwolf ( Ciaran Hinds in a CGI) with a cluster of alien drunks nicknamed Parademons, who planned to collect 3 boxes of energy that would give him super power to ... ya, who cares. It does not matter. Just like the unnamed box name of Mother Box / Motherboxes, the movie scripts can not find MacGuffin more interesting than the power to destroy the world, which of course is used by criminals to destroy the world because that's what criminals always do.

By the way, this power is so great that it can destroy life. Now, by estimating the probability of time relativity that correlates with the conservation of energy in the space dimension to the existence of the extraterrestrial universe entity which will fix the economic volatile, the prosperity conspiracy and hopefully the heart controversy for the achievement of the harmonization of life (or so I have caught from the theory delivered Batman), can this power can be used for the opposite? You know, like they did in Pet Sematary- Stephen King . Nothing wrong with trying right? Ehem.

Although it contains many characters, it is the shortest of all DC Extended Universe movies. The Justice League actually carries the burden of continuing the story of Batman v Superman and introducing no fewer than 3 new characters at once to their background, but managed to do so in two hours by narrative character narration and superserious attitude of its predecessor. If The Avengers is the culmination of its members' solo films, the Justice League is more beneficial thanks to the existence of most of its character that has become pop culture everywhere including Indonesia. Nothing so needs to be explained about Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Aquaman; well , maybe not with Cyborg, but his name is enough to explain his character.

This characteristic also gave the film a lot of fun. They are throwing a curse or satire according to their characteristics. At one point, Batman asked Aquaman, "Can you really talk to a fish?" With a look that is a combination of curiosity and want to mock. The Flash became the main ingredient of a joke because of its childish nature. This creates a kind of intimacy for the audience when we actually do not really know them.

What's missing is Snyder's unique visual style. Whatever people criticize about Snyder, he is one of the most recent visual cinema visuals . In the Justice League there was barely a truly memorable moment. Its setpieces are sometimes quite stressful, but this is just a generic special effects parade that is like taken directly from a video game. The villain, especially, is a lousy CGI creations that can not give a convincing impression as a villain. The film became a dull blockbuster action show that in many parts was saved by jokes. Similar to the first dating trick. If you managed to make a joke, the impression of a dating perceived gebetan not too bad.

Come to think of it, all this DC superhero is very super indeed. I mean, when compared to Marvel. Superman, for example, can literally beat anything, possibly including Captain America or Iron Man in a single libas. So they need the threat of lvl doomsday. In this film, the climax takes place in a remote place in Russia so they can destroy anything without consequences. But if all the threats are doomsday doom, doomsday so dull? For our superhero, all can be a joke ? Nice to know they know that too
