'Deadpool 2', 'Gambit' & 'New Mutants' Get New Release Date
Post-acquired Disney , did not take long for 20th Century Fox to make changes to the release date of his new films. The change this time concerns three films based on X-Men Cinematic Universe , some of which are ready to run this year.
The first film is Deadpool 2, which is promoted two weeks from June 1, 2018 to May 18, 2018. This new release date will confront Deadpool 2 on two major films, Avengers: Infinity War (May 4) and Solo: A Star Wars Story ( May 25). Despite having to duel with fellow superhero movies such as Infinity War which is no less anticipated, box office analyst Jeff Bock predicts it will not adversely affect Deadpool 2 revenues 2. The reason, Bock rate Deadpool 2 and Infinity War have different target audience and attraction, so in the end both of these films will complement the tastes of the audience, rather than compete with each other.
The next X-Men world - based film is Gambit . Having recently lost director Gore Verbinski , the studio is now delaying the release of Gambit from 14 February 2019 to 7 June 2019. Verbinski is the third director to retreat from Gambit , following Rupert Wyatt and Doug Liman . The film will reportedly carry the concept of Ocean's Eleven's heist film starring Channing Tatum as Gambit, and Lizzy Chaplan as the female lead.
Finally, there is The New Mutants which was originally aired April 13, is shifted away to 22 February 2019. The delayed cash for nearly a year is surprising to many, given the studio has released a trailer that invites a positive reaction, and make the audience more impatient waiting for the arrival of this horror movie genre horror. Although there has been no official explanation regarding the delay, reportedly the original film The New Mutants not as chaotic trailer, and that's why the studio plans to do additional shooting and repair, to make a movie made by Josh Boone look even more sinister.
Meanwhile, another mutant from Fox, X-Men: Dark Phoenix , will be released on schedule on November 2nd, 2018.
