Everyday is a good day to practice photography

It has been rainy and overcast these past few days in Taipei, but there are still photos to be found! I took a stroll in the city with the aim of shooting to see creatively. I opted for an architectural exercise today, and tried to use the overcast sky to my advantage.

I tried looking up, sometimes almost straight up, to look for new angles. It was a fun exercise, and definitely a good way to spend time on a cloudy day!

By the end of this post I hope you will have an excuse to go out shooting next time the weather looks bad :)

This building caught my attention right away, with its nearly symmetrical features. In post, I made the dark areas darker to give it a more constrasty look.

I thought this section of the building looked pretty neat.

Now this was the result of looking straight up, I was able to capture an abstract architecture with Taipei 101 in the background!

Another image where I shot straight up, had to micro-adjust my position to get it exactly where I wanted it.

I hope this post inspired you to take your camera out even when the weather looks horrible for photography!
