My visit to Taj Mahal was awesome

I had been to the capital city of India, New Delhi, recently for Steem meetup and while we were at it, @firepower and @varunpinto decided to give Taj Mahal a visit. After all, Taj Mahal is one of the 7 wonders of the world and it was only a couple of hundred kilometers from where we were staying. As a video producer, I try to make use of every location possible and a location like Taj Mahal could be used for intro and outro of the Delhi meetup video. In fact, I also planned a Nandu Namkeen video at Taj.

When we reached there, it turned out the security was bumped up so much that we were thankful that they let us in with our clothes on. Cameras were allowed, but tripods were banned. Even my mic was not allowed inside. Just when we thought our video plan had gone kaput, @firepower utilized his sneaking power and we were shooting inside Taj Mahal premises in no time.

We spent most of the time in front of the Taj shooting the intro/outro and Nandu Namkeen video. Everything went on smoothly until a military personnel caught us shooting videos, but after convincing him that we meant no harm with our innocent faces, he let us go with a warning. Nevertheless, our work was well executed and it was time to go inside Taj Mahal. While everyone was vacating the premises, we were allowed inside Taj and we got to see the insides in all its glory with no crowd. I had visited Taj Mahal previously with my parents when I was 8 years old. I had a déjà vu moment while I was inside the humongous medieval architecture and I must say that there’s no doubt as to why it shouldn’t be among the world’s 7 wonders.

Overall, it was a great trip to Taj. I’m excited about upcoming trips with the firepower crew to different parts of India and abroad.

The uniqueness of Taj Mahal lies in some truly remarkable innovations carried out by the horticulture planners and architects of Shah Jahan. One such genius planning is the placing of tomb at one end of the quadripartite garden rather than in the exact centre, which added rich depth and perspective to the distant view of the monument. It is also, one of the best examples of raised tomb variety.

Are you an architect?

Unfortunately I missed the New Delhi meetup.. Looking forward to meeting yawl in future.. India seems to have a vibrant Steem community :)

You should have come. Got to know a lot of steemians.

Is there a place/link we can keep track of future India meetups? I missed it because I didn't know when or where it was taking place.. Still new to the platform.
