Like most creative work, writing is an art. To write beautifully such that hearts are captivated by your piece requires great skill, and like any skill, it gets better and better when you hone it - read more, write more. Writing to some is a gift they really cannot explain. Yes, some persons are born writers, while others are results of hard work, practice and sheer will to become. For some of us, it is not just about writing a sentence, but writing it such that it appeals to the reader in a unique kind of way. Like music, writing nourishes the soul when a writer expresses a concept in a such a manner that the reader can relate to. It heals, it motivates, it enriches and it relaxes. Creativity always has its rewards and beyond money, writing is like a potion, it endears you to people. However, just because you’re passionate about presenting a sentence so beautifully, some might get jealous and think you a flamboyant person. What they do not understand is; like a footballer stepping unto the field of play, a musicians entering into the studio, a basketballer entering into the court, or an athlete taking to the track, every time you decide to pen down your thoughts, it behoves on you to do it so magnificently, using the right words in the right places and punctuations where necessary, such that it stands out from what someone who isn’t a writer would have written. Writing has different styles to it just as it holds different meanings, and as a result, only the writer and those who understands his/her piece and the realm from which s/he writes would appreciate it. Every piece holds a meaning but if it is ever beyond your comprehension, then it might be just another nonsense to you. Writing is tasking as it is refreshing, it requires thought, sanity and sometimes serenity. I enjoy this creative venture and I’m excited that I write. What do you do?
