Been away again, just for the weekend.

My husband and I went camping for 2 nights to make the most of having the weekend off from work as this don't happen very often. We didn't take much, just our smallish blow up tent, small stove so we could make coffee and obviously sleeping bags. We didn't cook, we thought we'd just eat out. We didn't get to the campsite till 7pm on the Friday so we put the tent up, sorted the sleeping arrangements then went down the pub for food and drink. We missed out on food by about 5 minutes, so we had 1 drink and left to go to McDonald's which was about 5 miles away. Not really the type of food we wanted but when you're hungry anything will do.

We popped in the petrol station shop to buy an ordnance survey map of the area as we wanted to go cycling the next day. We had an early night after that as we were getting up early to drive about 20 minutes away so I could take part in the nearest parkrun. A free, timed 5k run.

What a hard parkrun, it was mainly on grass with some paths and some gravel paths. I'm not used to this as I'm generally a road runner. I enjoyed it and was happy with my time.

After getting breakfast and going back to the campsite we went out for the afternoon on our bikes. It was lovely we biked to the one and only pub on our route for a nice cold pint before cycling through the forest.

Cycling through the forest was lovely, the weather was nice and it was just so peaceful, thankfully the paths were really good for cycling which made it even better.

When we got back we just chilled in the sun outside the tent until it was time to get ready to go out for food and drink again.

The next day we didn't rush as it was another beautiful day, we sat and had coffee outside enjoying the sunshine until it was time for us to pack up and leave.

It was such a lovely weekend I didn't want to go home back to reality. Weekends off go to fast! Before I knew it I was back at work today, which is pretty rubbish!
