Diary Game - 30/03/2023

As the end of the 2nd Academic term is nearing. It tends to get quite busy at work.

While the upper school have exams, the primary grades have projects.

So what are these projects?
The primary grades will do a 4-day project including a lesson from every subject they have learned. On the 5th day, the project will be showcased to their parents and to everyone in the school. There will be a highlighted topic which will consist of the other subjects.

For this term, I and my students have decided to do plants. Thourgouth these 4 days, the students have prepared posters about Photosynthesis, Types of plants, and How to grow a plant? Parts of plants we need, and House Plants. For maths, we have made bar graphs about the different types of plants around us, for example, tall and short plants.

We have made charts about the life cycle of plants, Parts of plants, and what a plant needs.

The students each have prepared a speech on a topic given to them.

They have all prepared a French sentence about France's national flower.

Today they will be decorating the class with leaves and flowers made from paper. they will also do a rehearsal to get ready for tomorrow's showcase. The students are very excited.

The class next to ours is doing a project about Europe and they prepared posters, charts and models. they have also prepared a food stall which will include food items from the European countries that they will be speaking about.

While the projects are going underway, the whole school is preparing for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year aka Avurudu program which will happen 5 days from today. Everyone is very busy with the preparation.

The primary school are doing dance and song items.
They have practices every morning for the dance item.

I am in charge of the senior dance item. there are gonna be three songs. one is a duet, the second is for both girls and boys, and the third is a girls' dance,

I also have to plan the game that my class will be doing during the Avurudu function.
The plan is to do a juice-drinking game. the winner is the student that finishes first.

Well, these are pretty much the things that will be happening today.
