Christmas greetings steemians, hope we are all enjoying Christmas already!! Just me, they haven't bought my Christmas dress😑😥.

Yes me, but i still need Christmas dress.
Thanks to @thegreen for organizing a contest that made people to express their mind on what Christmas means to them. i believe most people would have laughed or nag if i can say i still need Christmas dress.

Christmas dress.

This Christmas dress has brought up somany issues and controversy in our society, its valued by others and condemned by other.

Some peoples opinion

• buying a Christmas dress is childish because i buy my children expensive dresses and they must not wear it just on Christmas day.
• Bringing up a child by constantly buy them Christmas dress is wrong because they may be a season that you don't have and they won't understand.
• personally i grew up not celebrating Christmas because after my father's date, we couldn't afford expensive cloths thus i always feel inferior and stay at home thus i will never train my children to esteem one day more than others.
• Christmas is a day considered as our Lords birthday so we have to be colorful.
• hmm my children can't stay without wearing Christmas dress, "a di work na for who dem"?
  The options and comments are exhaustive as many as i have asked if their children will "wear a Christmas dress "
  You may have your own opinion as well as i may have mine, but nonetheless our opinion are always right if we can justify them and are comfortable with them.

My opinion about Christmas dress.

Before i state my opinion, i will like to narrate a story that happened when i was 9years old.
When my late father was alive we used to make wishes and it was granted but after his demise things change.
I could see my mom struggling to make us happy on that day. She could really try her best. I never cared if the dress someone was putting on was better than mine or vice versa. The most important thing was "my mom bought me a dress".
This Christmas season as usual, my mom took me to the market to make my choice, the only dress that caught my attention was above what she could afford then, the woman was bragging and increased the price since she realized i I really loved it. My mom pleaded to the extent of adding even what we had to use for transportation fair!! Chai!! I saw the frustration on her face and openly told her in the woman's shop that i dont need a Christmas dress again, that i could put on the dress she bought the previous year, my mom being shocked smiled in relief, that was all that matters to me anyways, we both stood up about leaving when we realized that the seller was still in shock and amassed, she said she had never seen a child like me and asked my mom to give half of what she was offering.

Christmas dress or gift is not an expensive dress, its the love attached to it. Its a symbol of love, unity and harmony. In the old days all family members will put on same brand, this spread a feeling of belonging, identity and harmony. This is what Christmas dress means to me.
