Hello animal lovers. My sincere greetings to everyone who is enjoying my content from anywhere in the world. I am here today with an interesting content. Today I am going to discuss why Hilsa fish is the national fish of Bangladesh.

Every country and nation has its own resources depending on its geographical location. Whichever way you make an active donation to that country, different from everyone else. A large part of those resources we get naturally. And I make the rest in the form of knowledge, science and intelligence.

This is how hilsa fish is the great blessing of the great creator to the people of Bangladesh. Undoubtedly a symbol of pride and pride of Bangladesh. The existence of Bengalis is incomplete without Hilsa fish.

Fish is the staple food of Bengalis. That is why the people of the country are called fish and rice Bengalis. The accuracy of this world-famous saying has been given by the famous hilsa of our country. You will be surprised to know that this fish cannot be farmed.

Hilsa is basically a marine saltwater fish. Most of the time they come to the sea but some of them travel a distance of about 1200 km to the Padma and Meghna rivers of Bangladesh. What is the original grazing land of the Bay of Bengal sediments and terraces in Bangladesh. Therefore, hilsa is found in twelve countries of the world, but 70 percent of the total amount of hilsa is found in Bangladesh.

Mother hilsa lays eggs twice a year. Most in September or October and the rest in February, March or April. A mother hilsa lays 1 to 2.3 million i.e. 10 to 23 lakh eggs per season. And in the nursing ground, mother Hilsa attends round the clock. Then when the children learn to swim, the mother goes back to the sea with the hilsa.

Father hilsa plays a special role in raising hilsa. When the brothers leave the children and go out in search of food, the father hilhas look after the children. Even after going to Barisal, only 10 to 20 percent of hilsa get a chance to grow properly.

If even fifty percent of the hilsa eggs had grown properly, the Bay of Bengal would have been occupied by hilsa.

It takes one to two years for a baby hilsa to grow into a full-fledged hilsa. It ranges from one to three kg in weight. The hilsa produced in Bangladesh has the best taste. Hilsa collected from Chandpur district is most loved by them.

Hilsa is called by different names in different countries of the world. Hilsa in Bangladesh. Hilsa in India, Chakshi in Gujarat. Called Palsha in Telugu, Pallu in Pakistan etc.

Now let's come to the story of Bengali hilsa cooking theory. There are so many stories about hilsa, but fried hilsa is the most preferred by Bengalis. Cheho and mustard hilsa and bhava hilsa are very popular among Bengalis. An old recipe of the Ghants made with katha and hilsa fish head. You also make a special dish with fragrant rice and hilsa fish which is also known as bhaturi or bhaat hilsa.

In 1972, Hilsa fish was declared as the national fish in the month of the species in consideration of the various benefits and advantages of Hilsa and its own resources. The culture of eating hilsa fish with panta rice in the Pahela Baishakh festival of Bangladesh has added another dimension to the relationship between hilsa and Bengalis.

On the other hand, the total amount of hilsa extracted in Bangladesh is 6 lakh tons, the market value of which is more than 21 thousand crore rupees. Bangladesh earns Tk 300 crore only by exporting hilsa. It has been fulfilling one percent of the total GDP of Bangladesh. Hilsa has been recognized internationally as a GI product. This hilsa of Bangladesh is recognized worldwide.
