ShadowBot Minimum SP Requirement After Upgrade!

in #shadowbot6 years ago (edited)

Due to the nature of the new HF20 Upgrade we will need to begin enforcing a minimum SP requirement. Anyone under 5 SP will be removed automatically from our system. Anyone with less than 5 SP must power up by October 15, 2018 in order to remain an active caster.

We must make this upgrade in order to ensure our members are actually active and do not drain our resources while others could be utilizing them. The latest HF20 changed the entire platform on Steem and in response we must adapt as well. Beginning October 15 we will have a minimum SP that will scale up until we hit our target.

Requirement Timeline

[UPDATED: October 6]
October 15: 5 SP
November 1: 10 SP
November 15: 15 SP

If you are not at or above the Required minimum after the timeline dates you account will be frozen and removed from ShadowBot. This ensures we focus our resources on real good Steemians but also ensures that we are not wasting votes on users that are far to low to even have RC/Votes to give back to the system.

If you need help reaching the new requirements for any reason please reach out to others here! If you are a good Steemian we will not leave you behind, this is just a reaction to the new HF20 system that Steem implemented last month. We have to adapt and evolve or we will continue to see more problems for all. This is not meant to punish anyone! As stated if you need help growing your SP and are a real legit steemian we will make sure you are not forgotten!

This upgrade means anyone who attempts to join with less than the Required Minimum SP after those dates listed above will not be allowed in. Sorry planktons but we don't have much choice. The new upgrade is forcing us to adapt. IF you are a plankton and want to join us feel free to reach us directly using our Support Ticket System. We will review you account and decide on a case by case basis who to accept and help flourish into a minnow!

Thank you all for being part of this amazing community!

I got one suggestion: Don't remove those accounts from Shadowbot. Just freeze them (so they won't upvote and won't receive upvotes from the pool) until they are above the minimum.

The account should automatically defreeze with reaching the 5/10/15 SP, starting to give upvotes and receiving upvotes.

The reason is simple: Every account is useful sooner or later, they can set it up and forget about it.
A redfish/plankton etc. may find Shadowbot, likes it, wants to join but is not able to. At least let him join but don't use the account until it's worth it.
The user will forget about Shadowbot later on and with an account already set up and defreezing at the right time, it's a fully automated reminder.

The sign up and the regularly check on the SP should be quite resource friendly with a good return from those sign ups getting later above the minimum. Every user should be kept.

Also something else to consider: The reduced vote value by 1.2 SP.
https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@crokkon/how-will-the-hf20-dust-vote-changes-affect-the-vote-values

If a vote was worth 1.2 SP before, it will be worthless with HF20. A 15 SP vote will lose around 8% of its value in rshares. A 100 SP vote will give up 1.2%, a 1000 SP vote loses 0.12%. The more SP an account uses to vote, the less affected is its vote value.

So even with enough RC a 1.2 SP vote at 100% is still totally worthless. So regarding to that HF20: Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.

You guys still powering down?

This account has never and never plans to power down. Other members of ShadowBot may do as they like but @shadowbot is here for the long haul and refuses to leave if we have a community that still wants us around!
