This was a hard decision to make but today I decided to power down
I wanted to give a huge heads up to my loyal followers with the plans I am about to make and avenues I am shifting towards in order to stay afloat within the Steemit community and to further push my Steemit Blogger Central ahead. Since HF19 my post payouts have dropped dramatically, literally an average of $1-$5 a post. I have been researching around for the last week by connecting to some loyal followers of mine and it appears there seems to be a shifting situation where people just don't upvote the same since HF19. Personally I get it and have no issues with anyone about how they vote but I had to come to some serious choices lately and it just doesn't seem feasible right now to spend hours like I do with researching topics and post long form articles with the current state of my accounts position.
So everyone knows I am not leaving Steemit nor giving up on this account, the situation right now is a balancing act for me and I had to decide where my attention and focus needs to be the most. Bills are starting to also stack up and with the way payouts have been performing I have to power down to kind of make sense to the family the dedication I put in this and my Steemit Blogger Central project. As of right now I will take a little vacation from this profile, power down to cover bills so I can shift full time focus on my profile for SBC @steemitbc for the time being. I will swing by when I come up with something I figure you may like and post here but not so constant as I have been. My reasoning for this is due to a little of the HF19 effects on my posts and actually the nagging feeling that its probably better I give my growing SBC community full attention and try to raise our SP on that account because in the end the idea is to grow it so I can help the users that come to us to grow themselves in Steemit. I am trying to not be selfish about money so I figure power down to cover bills so I can write for SBC and put 100% back into SP for our users to help them grow.
I am on the fence at this stage with HF19, I see it benefiting a lot of people but on my end it has pushed me away from believing its helping a few of us from taking so much time to provide great content. I think the voting power situation has too many with hands tied to spread their upvotes around so a lot of buddy systems maybe forming or maybe my content just isn't on that list of value at the moment.
I will still swing by here and post you guys stuff occasionally, I more or less view this as a vacation vs running to only my project. Right now I have hundreds up people underneath me who are hard working in Steemit and I believe if I provide more attention that could benefit more than myself and may benefit Steemit even more. I will be around, and most likely on @steemitbc a lot more so feel free to swing by and catch up with me. Great things are happening in our SLACK, its so busy its virtually a full time job at this moment so I hope this shift for the time being is going to be that difference everyone needs there.
I shall return and I thank you for understanding my choice in this. This seriously was not an easy one to make but the family really needs me to not slow down on what I bring in so sadly I have to give up that holdings I never wanted to touch. All are welcome to join me and my Steemian family on our Slack, going full time to help others here so I hope to have your support on this next step in my Steemit adventure.

Great post
You r doing great
Thanks, hopefully things improve around here lol....for the time being its time to take a vacation
I feel ya. I can watch my posts shoot up and then drop down to almost nothing. I beleive the self-voting is draining the reward pool and thats one consequence of HF19 they should've seen coming. Its disheartening to spill your guts into a post and to have people reward it up like $60, then watch as it drains down to $28, then 17 etc. Or one of my posts after HF19 only got to .85 and had no payout at all on day 7. People just arent upvoting like they were before. They are saving their votes for the "big fish", you know who they are...anyway, best of luck neighbor!
What got me to think on this, I had a post that made it to $230 last week, it paid out 2 days ago for only $60. That literally is not due to the average prices as everyone keeps saying, that is almost 80% of a downtrend and I just can't see myself doing this solo anymore. Why I am deciding to use this as just a side thing, not quit but make this more for the fun of it like Steemit used to be and bring up my other profile @steemitbc so it helps our SBC users better. HF19 has killed content creation in my opinion. They keep saying its to promote better content but in my opinion they just lost my addition to that due to the fact its killing upvotes and I lost full support compared to what it was like before HF19. I rather keep those consistent $20 posts vs this weird fluctuation going on. I will still be around but I think I will be more focusing on the community I built.
I havent been getting notifications lately either...for replies or anything.
Odd but I am getting the same thing. Yesterday it was logging me out like crazy too. Think there is still a lot to upgrade in this, sure they are working on it but its been a downer lately
great article, thanks for sharing the perspective.
Anytime, I will still be around, just got to take a little vacation and focus on my main project for the time being. I will post stuff randomly here, just not as consistent due to the upvoting issues going on since HF19. Hopefully it gets turned around but for the time being I will focus on helping Steemit with Steemit Blogger Central
Good luck with your Steemitbc project. I can relate with the post value decreasing. It's very frustrating to watch the reward diminish over the week and is disheartening.
Hopefully something changes otherwise I fear that we might lose lots of decent bloggers.
I am seeing a lot of frustrated users popping up, myself included. People keep saying well maybe the content is not of value but my writing has not changed and I was doing great prior to HF19. Almost 1000 followers making $1 a post for hours of work just doesn't make sense to keep doing while the system is like this right now. I suspect more people cashing out soon, hate to say that but I have already heard from many users this route for them is the same. Sad, if anyone liked my stuff they are gonna have to wait it out, got to just do this for the fun of it now and at a very random pace. But I do have my project and maybe HF19 was the push I needed to go more full time to help others with that. We are booming so I suspect maybe doing that to help others get those upvotes with that maybe the right choice anyways. I won't be leaving just not posting as much. Let them want more I say lol....then maybe the value will return for the hours I put into this.
I just saw another post that showed the pool losing half its value over the last 30 days. 7 days after HF19 was the largest with drawl and yesterday was the lowest since then. However, the size of the pool is still going down. Unless there is some huge bump into the pool every 30 days, it would seem to me, that the pool would be empty by the end of the year.
This situation is pretty concerning to me. I am still sticking with Steemit, just shifting focus on my Steemit Blogger Central more but the rate things have dipped down I am left with no choice but to power down to keep up the family side of my situation. I am unsure how bad this could get but seriously did way better prior to this HF. Started looking good but I am seeing a lot of people getting hit hard all the sudden with barely any upvotes. Calling this about boosting great content is not looking to have that effect and concerns me for the future. This is why I am diving more into my @steemitbc account. I figure if I power down I can focus on that with no worry about payouts for a bit, get that to rise and help Steemians out with the way we promote people. I still will use this account but more use it for the fun than income, that way I don't get discouraged and in turn help out this community and minnows because I think they are going to need it. We just got to hang in there, I am sure in the end something will give. HF20 probably will address the issues I hope
It's interesting to read your post and the comments . I'm still new have no cluewhat hf19 is but it gives me a little understanding that something did change. And yes I agree that when you write a post that your actually kinda proud of and it gets no love. It is dis heartening. Good luck. Be careful however if this is something you enjoy doing. It's been my experience in other projects that I've done. The people that take vacations from projects rarely come back from Vaca. Myself included. Life is good at distracting us from going back once we stopped the momentum that was propelling us.
HF19 was a fork we had a couple weeks back, it kind of tightened up how much a person can vote so we are having a growing pain catching up to us. I still had the activity but no upvotes coming in so I been knocked down from an average of $20 an article to change lol. Its no ones fault but its got me having to abandon ship for the time being with this profile. I am still going to write here but more at a random pace till I see its worth my time again. Its sad because I am getting a few messages asking me not to but its just not feasible with the fact my other project @steemitbc is booming and needing more full time attention. I am still with Steemit, just going all in on that project because it helps users here on Steemit. I think in the long run that is where I need to be. So more or less not on vacation just shifting focus. I see this happening a lot here lately so I had to make a snap decision for the family and my workload. No worries though I will pop up here and surprise people now and then lol. Once I see it gaining more traction I will try to come in more often.
Do you buddy! I'm following steemitbc so will see you there too. I may hit the power down soon to pay to fix some nonsense going on in my community. HOA keeps making excuses, I can solve the problem with my handyman for $200. I may just do it and eat the cost from some of my steem.
I am still going to write here but just not as much. Till this payout situation starts showing signs of a turn around I will just kind of focus on steemitbc. Can't quit lol...but I sure do need the funds. Think this HF was a bit of a problematic situation for a lot of people but I am sure it will recover. Figure earn up for the project than reboost this back up after I pay a few things off. Seems a lot of us have to go this route, sucks but I am still here my friend.

Thank you for that support, its a labor of love for both me and my fiance, its all about making an effort to giving back to others. I just got to manage the balance and when I do this should rock out on all levels I hope.
Yeah..it's a journey for sure..take your time and don't be too hard on yourself (same goes for dear @cryptofrygirl too)..burnout is not good in the long run on many levels :)
I agree, we are doing fine its just a matter of seeing whats ahead and trying to make sure we cover all bases beforehand. I think we will manage but we have a lot more work to do
:)
I actually feel the tide is turning. Stay strong. Appreciate everything you and @cryptofrygirl are doing!
We are always happy to help.... @cryptofrygirl has been amazing through this, not many women would put up with my hair brained schemes lol....she has been a major help and supporter on SBC. We are going to make this thing huge for you guys, one way or another
