Beauty Of Creativity : Hypomeces squamosus - The gold-dust weevil
Good afternoon all friends of #BeautyOfCreativity (BOC)
While relaxing during recess, I walked leisurely in the garden of the school where I work, my steps immediately stopped when I saw a yellow beetle perched on the leaf of one of the flowers in the garden, the beetle is a gold dust beetle or in scientific language it is called Hypomeces squamosus.
There are some beautiful beetles that are golden yellow and some are green, I happened to find one of them, without wasting much time, I immediately activated the phone camera and took some photos, I also caught it for ease of shooting, but as the name suggests the gold dust beetle, it turns out that its shell is coated in a thin layer of dust so that it fades to the touch which makes it lose a bit of color brightness. but because it was already I also continued shooting before releasing it again.
Some of the photos I got I share here, even if you want to know more about Hypomeces squamosus, you can find many resources on the internet.
Hypomeces squamosus, also known as the gold-dust weevil or green weevil, is a species of beetle in the true weevil family.[1][2] The adult weevil can reach a length of about 14 mm (0.6 in) and is covered with iridescent green or yellowish-green dust-like scales all over the body. This species can be found in India, tropical Southeast Asia, and the Philippines. Both the larvae and adults are crop pests. The larvae live in and pupate in the soil, feeding on living plant roots. The adult weevils are long-lived, doing damage to foliage, and sometimes defoliating young bushes and nursery trees.[2]
