Lake Minnewanka (Canada)

Located just north-east of the city of Banff is Lake Minnevanka, a 17-mile (27 km) long glacial lake fed by the Cascade River.

The lake got its name from the people of the First Nations who hunted and camped along their shores. They called it "Minn-waki" or "Lake of Spirits", because they believed that there were spirits in the lake.
