A small sample of what the fire did

Two days before. A random picture I took, don't remember why. Maybe I was testing something. There are (were) much better landscapes around here, I never took the time to go photograph them. I did my share of exploring but I never recorded them. And now..maybe in 20 years, when the trees grow back, the wild boars, Foxs, birds, recover from this. the thing is, fires never stop in Portugal. Economical interests are behind this. Businesses that deal in wood, industries that deal in wood based products, fire fighting airplanes and helis(they make alot of money), and are said by many people to be the cause of fires, yes intentionaly. Pure negligence is another cause and the occasional Pyromaniac.

Five Kilometers away, in other village

Two kilometers down the road on the other side.
Some areas are not burned, simply by mere chance, the wind was so strong that night, and it took the fire from one spot to another, sometimes jumping areas.
There is no point in me taking any more pictures of this. I could go on and on with posts about this since, the north of the country looks like this now. This are just random pictures from the road I passed today.
Multiply this by almost every village, and then by every district in the North of the country, and you'll begin to get the overall idea of the catastrophe.
