Christmas Gift List @senseicat
I just received a notice that our school is going to have two Christmas trees with lists of items needed for families at my son's school. There are requests for gift cards and other items such as toys to be fulfilled. In lieu of an added gift, I think that it is a better idea to have children be a part of gifting a gift to someone else.
In the United States, Christmas has become so commercialized. Stores are decorated for Christmas prior to Thanksgiving to remind us to spend. Are things more important than the message of love, peace, and acceptance? Is happiness derived from possessing more things for a momentary sense of gratification?
How do you celebrate Christmas in your country Steemians?

You are right! In Austria it is similar, although I believe that the Shopping Spree has decreased in Austria in recent years...
We, my family and I don't pay anything for Christmas this year :)
Christmas, as a celebration of JOY, can be every day. The difficult thing seems to be to live it
For me, I experience joy in the present moment and spend very little time focused on thinking about the past and future. I think that this is one of the reasons why children are so happy!
i personally don't ... its been years, maybe just some dinner with my parents but that's about it. It doesn't feel real since Santa stopped dropping stuff down the chimney.
But don't let that stop you from enjoying it :D
