RE: The Dark Ages of the Electric Car: 1960-1980

in #electric7 years ago

A British report warned of the negative consequences of the spread of electric cars in the country, pointing out that it may lead to great pressure on electricity and interruption in some areas, according to the newspaper "The Times" British

The Green Alliance, an environmental research center, says that if six cars are lined up to supply electricity at one of the charging points, this will lead to a shortage of electricity in the same area.

"The UK power grid is not eligible for this type of vehicle," the center said, calling on the authorities to intervene to stop the "disaster" of the risk of power outages and high consumption of electricity.

Indeed, if every person buys an electric car at once, it will be a problem. However, that is not happening because electric cars are still expensive. As the price comes down, more people will buy them in a gradual adoption process which will happen at the same time as improvements to the power grid.

Thus, by the time most people drive an electric car, the power grid will have been improved so it can handle the additional load.

Yes, I only wish that precautions should be taken so that there are no problems
