Why sports are important to our life?

Everyone think that sports are only for physical and mental fitness. However, it has numerous hidden advantages. Both sports and education help to achieve success for students. Therefore, schools, as well as Universities, give similar priorities on providing students with a bright professional future.

Sports are not only physical exercises, but they do improve concentration levels when studying. Have you heard the saying “A sound mind in a sound body”? That is, to succeed in life, there must be a well-functioning mind in a fit body.

To live in good health, we must pay attention to exercises that allow us to focus on our goals. Sports teach us to accept victory and defeat in the same way, and they aid in the development of trust. The most important aspect is that it teaches us discipline. Motivating children to participate in sports and games should begin at home and school, with equal participation from teachers and parents. Sports can be done at any time and from any location, but they should be practiced from childhood for better achievement of academic or other goals.

Sports can be done individually or in groups. Group sports include volleyball, netball, hockey, cricket, football, and basketball. Athletics and field events include running, jumping, discus, javelin, and other events. Cricket is now Sri Lanka's most popular sport, and the country has made significant progress in athletics

Sporting is the best way to deal with life's losses and gains by balancing the body and mind. Playing sports for an hour or more daily has become critical for the welfare of children and the future of the country. That is why school as well as Universities has reserved considerable time for sports.
