My dear friends, you all may hear the proverb that ‘Laughter is the best medicine”, it means that laughter is the most effective way to heal both emotionally and physically. Studies have shown that a Kindergarten child laughs 300 times a day, while adults merely laugh on average around 17 times a day. Laughing is a medicine for a person, it helps to cure several diseases. It is healthy for our physical, emotional, and overall well-being.

Have you heard of World Laughter Day? It hold every year in the first Sunday of May to raise awareness about the various benefits of laughter among people.

The majority of people today suffer from depression. Depression is a mental illness that affects us both physically and emotionally. Lack of interest in family, friends, and fun; the mental state in which we simply isolate ourselves. People with such illnesses find it difficult to laugh. Being depressed and sad all of the time is a mindset that develops and becomes habitual over time. Such people should see a doctor, and laughter therapy can help them recover faster.

Laughter yoga is a mind-body exercise that is gaining popularity around the world as a dependable therapy for depression, stress, and anxiety. Therefor, laughter yoga is being promoted all over the country. People gather to perform forced laughter using simple breathing and yoga techniques. Yoga practitioners believe that there is no need for a reason to laugh. You only need to practice laughing to reap the benefits. Even as a spectator, attending a laugh therapy session makes you laugh. The exercises are so much fun that you can't stop laughing while watching funny faces. Laughter therapies can provide us with new energy and perspective.

People who have had a stroke in the primary brain area must engage in more laughter sessions because it plays an important role. Laughter is the therapy that heals us mentally and physically. When we laugh, endorphins and other stress hormones are released, which makes us happy. It helps to boost immunity and relieve pain naturally.

Laughter is a powerful coping mechanism and a natural antidote to stress, anxiety, and depression. It influences us to see the world from the positive attitude.

Depression is a serious illness that should be treated as soon as it appears. Laughter can undeniably help in the treatment of serious illnesses such as depression. Therefore, we should take advantage of every opportunity to laugh.
