Hi guys, today I am taking you to a beautiful location in Sri Lanka. This is the place to get a taste of nature, located on the banks of the Kelani River, and is ideal for a family day out or a casual date with your loved one. This is South Asia's first underwater tunnel aquarium, and it is located in Biyagama, Kelaniya, in the Colombo District. It is also Sri Lanka's only public aquarium, known as Water World Sri Lanka.

If you want to visit this place, you can take a train from any part of the country and get off at Kelaniya station, then walk to Colombo Kandy Road. Take any bus that runs along Biyagama Road, passing the Kelani Temple on the way, and Water World will be on your right. I recommend you to take a tuk-tuk from the station to Water World because it is the most convenient mode of transportation. The Southern Highway makes it easier for people from the southern areas to visit this location. To make it easier for you to find the location, I included a map for your convenience.

For admission, Rs. 950/- for full package per adult and includes visits to the aquarium, bird park, and river Safari. There is another package for Rs. 650/-, but I recommend you to take the Rs. 950/- package, because you can get the experience of river Safari, which is an important part of the picnic. You do not need to pay for anything else inside the premises because everything is included in this package except for food and drinks. Keep in mind that this location is only open from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Yes, there are interesting-looking eels, stars, urchins, and both local and foreign fish varieties in this aquarium.

The bird park, in addition to the aquarium, is a bird lover's paradise, with a diverse collection of vibrant birds from South Africa, Tropical Asia, Australia, and Africa. This bird park has many foreign species, and its selection is vastly different from that you find at Dehiwal Zoo. It is teeming with wood ducks, cockatoos, and colorful macaws.

South Asia's first underwater tunnel aquarium will immerse you in breathtakingly beautiful underwater life and allow you to witness the dramatic lifestyles of hundreds of sea creatures.

Don't forget to take this world's first aviary-themed boat safari ride, which is the most exciting part of the trip.

It has a natural look because of the well-maintained ponds and artificial waterfalls scattered about. To get food and drinks for your convenience; there is a large cafeteria on the premises.

Though you could walk through the park in less than an hour, you can spend a good half day admiring the birds, fish, and scenery of the park and river. Come and enjoy the place with your family or your loved one.
