Attended a funeral ceremony at Higurakgoda.

Hello, my friends, the previous few days I couldn't share my views with you since I had to attend a funeral in Higurakgoda. The deceased was an 84-year-old lady who was very close to our family. We left our house early on the 29th and arrived at about 1.30 p.m. When we arrived, the body was delivered to the house by funeral flowers.

After paying our respects to the dead, we sent our heartfelt sympathies to the family. After a cordial talk with the group, we proceeded to have a body wash because we had traveled more than five hours. After refreshing, we ate our lunch from them and joined with the rest of the funeral attendees.

The funeral service was held on the 30th, so we opted to remain with them to pay her final respects. In the evening, a large audience attended the funeral, and everyone was served meals. We barely get approximately four hours of sleep that night since we spend so much time with the funeral attendees.

On the 30th morning, after a shower, we changed into new outfits and proceeded to Down Star to meet the others. I helped them sweep the home and tidy the surroundings. A well-known hotel in the region generously donated breakfast, which included string hoppers, bread, coconut sambal, chicken curry, and dhal curry. We all went to the neighbor's house to have our meals because that was where it was set up.

The monks arrived at 3 p.m. and began doing devotional exercises. The event ended with a thank you address from a family member. The corpse was then transported to the cremation facility, where it was cremated at around 4:00 p.m.

Later, we all went to the deceased person's residence and tried the Mala Batha. We were invited to remain that night as well, as it was late in the evening, and to leave the residence the next morning. So we agreed to stay there that night. After having merely bed tea in the morning, we departed their place to see ours. We returned to our house at 12.30 p.m. after eating breakfast and lunch at a restaurant.
