Is it a temple or a playground for kids? 🙏👧

Can Taoist temples look like a colorful playground for kids?
Of course they can! The difference is that when we go to a temple we should show respect and we must take care of proper clothing, which does not expose too much body.

Some time ago I visited Ling Sen Tong, a beautiful Taoist temple. Its name can be translated as Rock of Heavenly Spirits. The temple is located on the southern suburbs of Ipho, a city in Malaysia.

It is one of many Malaysian temples located in limestone caves. However, as one of the few from the outside, it welcomes visitors with such a wide range of colors.

In the large garden you can find many colorful statues of characters from Chinese mythology.
That's why it resembles a playground for children. Some of the statues are also placed so that visitors can take pictures with them.

Inside the temple there is a pleasant coolness because it is entirely in the cave.
Here visitors burn incense and candles in honor of the deities. In this way they show respect, thank for their help and ask for support. Also, before taking pictures, you should show respect to the place by holding a short prayer.

I also welcomed the gods, thanked them for the opportunity to visit this place and asked them if I can take a few photos. I didn't hear a refusal so probably I did everything correctly.

Entry to the temple is free and you can visit it every day from 6 AM to 9 PM.

This place surprised me a little because I've never seen a temple with a garden like a playground for kids. So if you have the opportunity, you can't skip Ling Sen Tong temple in your trip plan.

Much love,
