Nassau, Bahamas: In Review. (Part 2)

Sitting out front of my hotel, waiting on my airport shuttle. It's been a nice trip, and so good to break away from the office, but I'm ready to be home.

Because we made a little snafu in our booking my girlfriend had to head home a day early, and this isn't a fun place solo. Sure, I could have linked up with my local friend Daniel last night, but it's just not the same.

But... Let's talk about some trip highlights. Particularly, the most fun we had here... Snorkeling.

I have a ton of pictures, to come later once I get them off my camera (it wouldn't have been a vacation if I'd brought my laptop) and can post them. But meanwhile, I'll just tell you about it.

$80 each for about 3 hours of snorkel time from Stuart Cove's. Which, unbeknownst to us, includes a final stop of swimming with sharks.

An absolutely amazing experience, to say the least. Especially when it comes as a surprise.

Sadly by that point in the trip my battery was dead on my camera and I only managed one short video from a long distance, but they got MUCH closer later in the dive. It was a bit annoying that everyone went out at once... with us all staying close to the boat on tethers there was a lot of bunching up. Especially as fear and adrenaline started running high. But still an unbelievable experience.

And the sharks weren't the only thing amazing about the trip. The other dives we're suuuuper beautiful. Getting face to face with all kinds of reef sealife, which I did manage plenty of pictures of, was incredible. Fields of beautiful coral, which I'm glad I got to enjoy before the warming oceans kill off what's left of it, provided so much color and life. All while getting to cruise around on the surreal sapphire blue waters surrounding us.

If nothing else, this whole trip was worth it just for that one experience. But, there was still so much more as well.... Stay tuned for part 3 to hear about it.
