  • Former cadet Oltwig Hirschfeld perpetrated in Berlin to assassinate the Center Party politician and Finance Minister Matthias Erzberger and hurt him there. Hirschfeld, the "patriotic interest" indicates a motive, is sentenced on February 21 to a prison term of only 18 months.

  • In Flensburg according to the Versailles Treaty, an international four-member commission is responsible for managing the voting areas of northern Schleswig. The population there is to decide on their national affiliation.
