A hundred years ago - 23/03/1920
Hi Steemians,
every day I will try to provide the most important events of the day a hundred years ago. If I forgot something that should be mentioned, let me know. Have a great day.
** 23/03/1919 **

- The KPD followers Max Holz freed Vogtland Plauen in a spectacular operation 23 trapped workers out of prison. The controversial within the KPD Hölz applies with his "Red Army" in the Vogtland as a folk hero because he supplied poorer sections of essential goods.
- Under the leadership of the Reich and State Commissioner for Westphalia, Carl Severing (MSPD), meet in Bielefeld government, party and trade union representatives as well as representatives of local authorities to discuss measures to restore calm in the Ruhr. The Army is opposed to such negotiations. The Ruhr Red Army and law enforcement councils now control almost the entire Ruhr region.
- Bucharest General Alexandru Averescu replaces the former Prime Minister Alexandru Vajda Voevod, led a politically moderate coalition government. The popular Averescu - previously interior minister - wins with the newly founded by him People's Party in parliamentary elections in May an overwhelming victory.
