Over Analysis Breeds Paralysis.steemCreated with Sketch.

Inaction can often lead to over analysis. Over analysis breeds paralysis within us. We live in a society of over sentimentality and over thinkers. These ideas can lead to indecisive paralysis. Thinking is a healthy useful past time! Over thinking is a one way ticket to indecision and loss of opportunity. Over thinking can lead to confusion as well and propagate anxiety. Over sentimentalism and thinking of the past with comparisons can often lead to indecision causing fear as well as causing depression.

We are bombarded by information and choices constantly within our technological smart phones lives. Choices are beneficial, yet decisions are profound. Choices are good, but decisions create movement in our life. Movement removes struggle and stagnation from your life. If you find yourself getting more of the same in your life then it is time to shake up the status quo. Sometimes chaos seems to collaborate with nature. Decisiveness intrinsically causes a bias to action mentality for human beings.

We must remove impulsiveness from the equation, and we should also understand that some opportunities should cook like an roast in the oven; nevertheless, we should gain clarity and get clear on our choices when it comes to direct action in our lives. Action is based off of clear decision. Your clear decision is based on the consequences at hand. It is good to be adventurous! A useful process to put into practice:

A useful action oriented process:
  1. Know your options clearly. Get clear! Get ready to interrupt your behaviors.
  2. When you feel the over thought or over feeling. Count 3-2-1 backwards.
  3. Then take action and go for it.
  4. Go with the flow.

If you over think and load yourself up with over sentimentalism in-between Step 1. and Step 2. You will wind up in what I call the "Paralysis of analysis." Practice the above as often as possible. I will leave you with this profound piece of wisdom from Leonardo da Vinci. Iron rusts from disuse; water loses its purity from stagnation... even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.

Cheers!

You never supposed to "not think" of a negative thought. You are suppose to make lemons from lemonade. Transform the negative by changing perspective. See the other side of things. Look deep as it takes effort.

Yes. Thank you for the clarification. I am not very good at words.

You are great at words. Just take your time... :-)

Good advise I will follow.
