Steemit Engagement Challenge WOX Community S6W3: Drawing Trees
Good morning (my time) folks. Day 1 of my big art show is in the books and now I am about to head back out for day 2. It is a 2 hour round trip drive on top of the show and we have to pack up at the end so it's going to be a long day.
It was tougher to make some art during the show than I anticipated, but that was a good thing. It just means we were busy with customers. I will have a post for these days starting tomorrow. For now, I did my best to get something for this competition last minute.
My plan was to work on wood pieces so people could see the process and know that it is all handmade. I forgot to grab any blank wood to burn on though. Luckily, I also grabbed some charcoal pencils so I made a few quick sketches, most of which I threw away.
We had more time later in the show for me to work on these a little bit, but it also meant I didn't have much time as once the show was done, we had a long drive and were very hungry.
This is a pine forest. Trees in the back were smudged to give the impression of distance. It's been awhile since I used charcoal for much of anything, as it rarely has a place aside my wood burned art, opting instead for watercolors, colored pencils or even acrylic paints.
Given I'll have a couple posts to make about the ongoing art show and @jae5086 will make chapter 3 for @xpilar's writing competition, it may be a few days before I get another piece of art showcased. This may be a good thing, as I'm going to have to really hunker down and build back my inventory.
See you all then! Now, back to the show!
Hello, I'm glad you were able to make some art even though you forgot to bring blank wood to burn on. Your sketches of the pine forest are beautiful, I love the way you used smudging to create the impression of distance :) Your description of the art show added a nice personal touch to the article :)
Thanks. We are just about ready for day two to begin. I am going to detail the event over the next couple days in more detail. Thanks for stopping by and happy for the follow!

That is very nice and artistic.
It is good to see you draw with other mediums, even though you really like pyrography.
