JOSH ALLEN JOSH ALLEN JOSH ALLEN. Get that name in your head, because you will be hearing it called out by NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, next year. Josh Allen is the quarterback of the Wyoming Cowboys who has had an unlikely journey to the top of the quarterback class this year. Allen had a decorated High School Football career playing for Frirebaugh High School in California. It was a 2 stop light town with only 8,000 residents. Allen grew up as a huge Fresno State fan and dreamed of following in NFL players David and Derrick Carr footsteps and starring in a Bulldogs uniform one day. But no one from Fresno State or any other Division 1 school recruited him. He was forced to playing at a Junior College where he played great but still got little interest from any programs.

Finally, one coach heard about the 6'5 gun slinger. Wyoming Head Coach, Craig Bohl, heard about this kid that had a great year at a Junior College and he agreed to meet him and bring him in for a workout. Allen showcased his arm strength and talent by making every throw perfectly. He was offered a scholarship and his dream of playing Division 1 Football was becoming a reality.

In Josh Allen's first full season as a starting quarterback he threw 28 touchdowns and for over 3,200 yards. He also showcased his athleticy by running for 755 yards. Allen led the Wyoming Cowboys to an 8 win season and bowl win. Those are 2 things that the program has rarely accomplished. Although Allen's favorite target, Tanner Gentry, is gone after catching 72 passes for 1,326 yards, there is still some talent left in CJ Johnson who will see the ball a ton.

Josh Allen's junior season starts on national tv with a non conference game in Iowa City vs the University of Iowa. This will be his biggest challenge thus far as a Cowboy and will be his coming out party for the country to see. Iowa has a good defense and their home field advantage will be a strong one. Iowa has one of the best running duo's in the country and will try to grind the game out. But if Allen can make some big plays, Wyoming will have a good shot at the upset. Vegas has Iowa -12.5 points currently and I will be all over that as I take Josh Allen plus the points.
