Big Ben Roethlesberger Appologises For Steelers Refusal To Stay In The Locker Room
Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, has spoken out about his team's decision to stay in the locker room during the National Anthem before their game on Sunday. The Steelers were playing in Chicago against the Bears. All but 1 Steeler, Army Veteran Villanueva, refused to go on the field. The fans booed and there was a ton of fallout for the Steelers and the NFL.
Big Ben apologized on Monday and said that he wishes the team would have been on the field for the National Anthem. He said the locker room was split and he and others felt coerced into following some of the African American teammates who insisted on staying in the locker room.
What do you think of the situation? I'm sure the entire Steeler team WILL be on the field this week for the National Anthem….btw, Villanueva’s jersey was the highest selling jersey in the NFL over the last 72 hours. Cheers!
Villanueva's jersey being the highest selling is a true testament to the consumers strength. I might just buy one even though I'm an Eagles fan. I support those who support this Country.

I just wish all teams can demonstrate the unity the Cowboys did last night. I loved that.
Agreed, while I hate 'dem boyz, I do think they took a different route, kneeling BEFORE the anthem and standing for it. People will still boo (as Arizona did) but that's to be expected. Problem is, the focus will always be on the kneeling, that's all consumers care about, not when or where, just the fact that they kneel infuriates people.
I posted a video on this, but one point I think is valid is that I can’t remember when kneeling was ever a sign of disrespect. I don’t understand why kneeling is offending so many people. It’s used as respect in religion, or if you are in front of a king or queen
