Bangkok is the largest city in Thailand and contains a variety of interesting places to visit.

Wat Pho

Wat Pho is a large buddhist temple. It's one of the largest temple complexes in the city and famed for its giant reclining Buddha that measures 46 metres long and is covered in gold leaf.

Wat Phra Kaew

Wat Phra Kaew, commonly known in English as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. Located inside the grounds of the Grand Palace, it enshrines Phra Kaew Morakot (the Emerald Buddha), the highly revered Buddha image meticulously carved from a single block of jade.

The Grand Palace

Built in 1782 this was the home of the Thai King, the Royal court and the administrative seat of government for 150 years.

A strict dress code applies at this site. The Grand Palace with The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is Thailand's most sacred site. Visitors must be properly dressed before being allowed entry to the temple. If you show up at the front gate improperly dressed, there is a booth near the entrance that can provide clothes to cover you up properly (a deposit is required).
