Creepy horror story
Whilst investigating the death of a local shopkeeper, a stable police officer called Darth Smith uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, cursed ruler circulating throughout Australia. As soon as anyone uses the ruler, he or she has exactly 65 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look grey. A marked person feels like a frozen giraffe to touch.
Darth gets hold of the ruler, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a noisy snake balancing on a nippy shopkeeper, an old newspaper headline about a motor accident, a hooded monkey ranting about legs and a drinking well located in an old-fashioned place.
When Darth notices his legs have giraffe-like properties, he realises that the curse of the cursed ruler is true and calls in his niece, a police officer called Susan Ferguson, to help.
Susan examines the ruler and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the noisy snake balancing on a nippy shopkeeper particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Darth and Susan pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded monkey. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
