Mega Man X: Sigma - No Damage X Buster Only Run
Final boss time. Yay. I wish I had something interesting to say about this rather mundane set of three final bosses in Mega Man X, but there's not enough pretentiousness in me to pretend that what we're seeing is anything even remotely close to something resembling interesting.
The bosses may have offered a challenge when I was five.
But that was such a long time ago, it was back when I still had hopes and dreams. And those days have been gone for so long it almost makes me want to cry.
But back to Mega Man X.
There's no reason to ever be threatened by the dog. It always starts the battle the same way, so just dash underneath, charge up your shot, double black and blast it with a completely free hit. After that, you just stay out of it its way by using the walls and blast it with fully charged shots. The trick here is that a fully charged shot gives the dog a knockback effect, which will interrupt whatever attack pattern it was working on at that time.
So, now the tables have turned. Now you get to be Ninja Gaiden.
Sigma's first form's only dangerous weapon is his seemingly indefatigable attempt at boring you to death.
Thankfully, we know his weakness, which is speeding up the video and putting on some music.
So that's that.
The second form is a little more dangerous, but not by much. It's possible to finish the entire boss battle without taking a hit, simply by standing on the edge of one of the two platforms, while blasting Sigma with fully charged X Buster shots.
I actually dropped down to the floor a few times on purpose and took risks just to keep the video at least mildly entertaining.
But to be truthful, the only somewhat interesting part is around 04:57 when my eyes caught a glimpse of a WhatsApp message on my phone, which distracted me long enough for the platform on the right to sneak up on me, and that forced me to actually pay attention to what I was doing in order to dodge it in time.
There's only so much you can do with an enemy that has three attacks that are all trivial to dodge to keep it entertaining. I tried, folks. If you made it through the entire video, I salute you. You have a strength of mind and will I can only dream of. Enjoy it. Accomplish something big. Don't waste your time doing a No Damage Run of X1, like I did.
This was a silly challenge. One that only someone like me would even contemplate. The only thing that would be even sillier, I guess, would be to finish X2 without using any upgrades or taking damage, using only the X Buster.
So, yeah. See you again with X2.
Good night, kids.
