Berijew-200-Altair Development for FlightGear

Introduction

FlightGear (http://www.flightgear.org) is an open source flight simulator that is even used in flight schools to train basic maneuvers, radio communication and navigation tasks. It is available for windows, mac and linux.

In this article I want to introduce my development of Berijew-200-Altair.

Development steps

• In 2015 I started to build this model, it was very difficult to get this water aircraft running.
• 2 years of development was done with dropbox link for test-pilots only.
• Fetching all available information on the internet.
• FDM (Flight Dynamic Model) work to get realistic behavior on ground, water and in the air.
• Full Instrumentation in the cockpit with more then 180 instruments, lamps and switches.
• Lots of Animations for water laoding, water bombing, ground and water effects, doors, smoke for reverse and normal thrust, runway effects.
• All functions are Multiplayer compatible and transferred over the network.
• Autopilot, water loading and bombing programming.
• Nasal programming for engine start up, lots of systems, instruments and terrain control.
• Video production with some flights uploaded on Youtube and documented on Steemit.
• Latest update are some improvements for more realism of runway effect, new splash screen, new handling on ice implementation,some text changes and 3D implementation of engine sounds.
