UNICEF exploring Ethereum smart contracts
Like I've been saying, Crypto currencies are here to stay, and the mainstream is slowly adapting. UNICEF just recently announced they will begin looking into how Ethereum's smart contracts can help efficiency. I'm not a big fan of these types of organizations, and I don't trust them. But from a crypto currency investing perspective, it's a very good thing. Hopefully it can be a good thing for children that suffers too.
One way to re-shape online transactions is in lowering the “cost of trust”; in effect, improving how parties transfer assets across the Internet. For UNICEF Ventures – where we assess and prototype emerging technology that can provide a portfolio of solutions to our organization as early-stage tech matures – this means testing Ethereum-based smart contracts as a tool for improved efficiency, transparency and accountability. We will define terms like “Ethereum” and “smart contracts” in the following paragraphs.
The goal is to enable various parties to work with each other, usually over the Internet, without the need for a middleman. In practice, smart contracts lay out: a) the conditions that all parties using the contract agree to; and b) actions described in the contract that can be executed if the required conditions are met.

The Ethereum platform is ideal to integrate UNICEFs processes quite easily. This is more so on the supply chain management function. Thanks for sharing, highly informative piece.

Interesting post. Like yourself, I tend to be suspicious of these charities but it's amazing to see the blockchain revolution unfold before our very eyes.
Another notice that proves tha cryprocurrencies will be used in real life sooner than we think...

Truth be told- any publicity is good publicity. I think it matters less who jumps on the crypto train than the visibility offered to all riders of the train.
This is good. I am proud more and more companies and organizations are implementing digital currency. This is good for all of us.
