Finally Summer in Norway
It takes a while, but when it finally arrives, we have some of the most beautiful summers. Today it's been 75 degrees Farenheit (24 degress Celcius), and everything is blossoming. The most important thing now is to really appreciate it and don't rush through the days.
Tomorrow we'll take a short day, and then head to the beach early. The sea is swimming temperature (which is about 62 Farenheit/17 degrees celcius for Norwegians) and the living is easy. :)
Here are some of our nearby berries and apples which we harvest throughout the summer. Just a couple of days for the wild strawberries, blueberries and currants. Our tomato plants, chili plants and peppers are coming along nicely too.
Time for some Yoga and then a beer and a snus on the balcony. Balance is important :)
@scandinavianlife Everything looks awesome! I love summer to...how long is summer in Norway? Following!
Looks incredible. Good reminder to appreciate the little things.
Happy pickings + enjoy the weather ;)
Thanks :) You too!
Yum!
I know this "secret" strawberry spot with a FIELD of strawberry bushes. You can literally pick buckets full. Most people just drive past it on their way to the beach. But myself and the old folks, they know whats up :)
Damn, send some summer our way too! We still freezing our butts in Finland :/
Tough luck! :) I think I'll keep the weather. But I sent you a some cents instead!
Well, at least that warms my heart a little :D
Photos look amazing, well done!
Thanks buddy!
:))))
Finally, time to actually get work done with everyone gone from the office!
Haha. Good luck!
Snus and beer in the sun sounds amazing, I need to go buy some beer now :)
Did you have a great time? Man I love snus..damn :)
Very nice. Enjoy your short summer. You should be grow good cabbages, lettuce, and root crops up there in Scandinavia.
Thanks :) Yeah..there's a lot of farms who have self service in august. Really cheap. All sorts of root crops, cabbage, salad, potatoes, carrots, onions and corn. Will of course post a lot of pics when we go there! It's awesome. Thousands of people come and dig the dirt like we're in the 18th century again. And then you pay with your phone. :) (not bitcoin yet)
New technology meets old agriculture.
love summer, very inspirative
Oh yeah! Summer is the best :)
I'm taking care of a vegetable garden for our cooperative (borettslag). It's been a lot of rain, but looks like we will get a lot of potatoes, and tomates from the green house =)
And I reccommend making apple cider (alc free):
10 liters apples cut
10 liters water
4 tbs citric acid
Mix eveything in a barrel for 48 hours, and stir well several times a day. When done, filter it and add 1 kg of sugar. Flask it and enjoy ice cold!!
Awesome! Thanks for the tip :)
