Ingredients of answered prayers

Prayer is a day to day routine for all christians. We pray for life, we pray for good health, we pray for shelter, we praying for provision, and so on.

Apart from all these forms of prayer, we occassionally do pray to God for a particular project but it is always as if God did not hear us. Our faith is sometimes weaken when we request from the Lord and our request is not granted.

Today I bring to you the ingredients of answered prayers, how well you should pray and the underlying principle for answered prayers. Before anything else, let us consider Psalm 66 vs 16 - 20

Psalm 66:16-20 New (NIV)
[16] Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.
[17] I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue.
[18] If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;
[19] but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer.
[20] Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!

From the considered verses, there are some hidden points for answered prayer:

• Admonition to come
• Admonition to cry out
• Admonition to praise Him
• Admonition to forbid sin
• Admonition to praise Him again

Admonition to come (Psalm 66 vs 16)

The first admonition is to come and hear the good things that the Lord has done but not all people can come. Only those who fear the Lord can come.

If you do not have an iota of fear of God in you no matter your level of prayer, He will not listen to you and His face will be hidden from you "FEAR GOD"

Admonition to cry out (Psalm 66 vs 17)

If you fear the Lord, then talk to Him base on your level of grieviances. A crying baby will always have the attention of the mother.

Do not grumble before the Lord but tell him what you really want with passion and show how much you need it.

Admonition to praise Him (Psalm 66 vs 16b)

You have yourself to blame not because you do not ask but because you fail to acknowledge the superiority of God even when He has not answer your prayer.

Praise Him day and night to show how much you cherish Him and your request will be given to you without condition nor hindrance.

Admonition to forbid sin (Psalm 66 vs 18)

Truly you have been doing all the afformentioned admonitions, but what about the sin that you cherished in your heart.

Sin literally means simple instruction neglected. You also know that if God should consider all your hatred, gossips, love of money, lustful thoughts, and so on, you do not worth been a living soul. But our God is a faithful God if you can repent from your sinful ways and keep His commandment.

After all these admonitions have been done without leaving anything out of it and after God has answered your prayer (Psalm 66 vs 19), what next?

Admonition to praise God again (Psalm 66 vs 20)

We are sometimes overjoyous that we forget that it is God that answers prayers, so rather than thanking God and referencing Him through praise, we rather give excuses based on our own intelligence like if I did not read, i will not have passed that exam. If I had not been saving, I might not have bought a car. I am promoted because of my hardwork in office.

Yes, you also contributed to your own success but without God in it you cannot achieve anything.

Change your ways and your prayers will be answered without delay.
