THE CROSS

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen peace be with you all.

Many are those that do not know the significant of the the cross.

Luke 9:23
And He said to them all, if any man will come after Me let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

In the Gteek the word "Cross" is "Stauros" which means and insteument of Capital punishment,exposure to death that is self dranial. In the ministry of Jesus, when He was teaching the act or criteria for Discipleship, He told them self denial,taken up his cross and follow.

In the account of creation, Man was self denial. In the book of Gen. 1&2, self denial mrans depending not on your own will-power, self -will, strength and ability but depending totally on Christ.

Man by craftness of the serpent depend on the will-power of himself not denying of himself to follow the will of God. The depending of man's will power, strength and ability leads to death. And that death is not only the exile from our mortal bodies but also out Glory is lost as it happened in the garden of Eden.

For Glory to reatored, there must be exposure to death that is self denial (The cross). Jesus was expose to death ie. Deny of himself and take up his cross which is instrument of Capital punishment for sin. He deny himself as God and He laid his life as a ransom for all into the Glory of his father.

Now the cross has become the object of the believers faith. In colossians 2:14, The Apostle Paul makes us understand that Jesus blotting out the handwritting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross and having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly,triumphing over them in it.

To take up his cross and follow himself simple means is renewing our faith on what Jesus has done for us on the cross and understanding what He (Jesus) has accomplished that the cross being the symbol of the believers victory.
