Tehari recipe of old Dhaka
Dhaka Tehari Cooking Recipe can follow the following steps:
Ingredients:
Gargad Rice (2 cups)
Beef/Chicken (1 kg)
Papaya (half cup)
Potatoes (1 cup)
Chilli (oil and chilli) chopped (2 teaspoons)
Turmeric (1 teaspoon)
Coriander powder (1 teaspoon)
Cumin powder (1 teaspoon)
Garam masala (cinnamon, pepper, salt, cloves, cardamom, saffron) ground (as needed)
Oil (1/2 cup)
Hot water (3 cups)
Milk (1 cup)
Cashew nuts (crushed or roasted) (as needed)
Raisins and cashew nuts (for garnishing)
Method:
- Wash the gargad rice and soak it in water. Take one tablespoon of oil in a bowl and mix it well with warm water (1 cup).
- Wash the meat and put it in a bowl. Now mix the meat well with papaya, potato, chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder and oil.
- Take a tablespoon of oil in a pan and heat it. Add meat to it and soak an average size of rice in water. Add little salt and mix with the following ingredients.

- Now add hot water (2 cups) and milk in a bowl. Soak the large ones in milk and water with a little salt on the stove. It will become Tehari when the water dries up on medium flame.
- Mix it well with cashew nuts (crushed or burnt). Now take it off the stove and pour it on the stove. Serve sprinkled with roasted cashew nuts and raisins for garnish.
