Ginger biscuits and butter cookies
Ginger biscuits
half tsp ginger powder
1/2 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup of powdered oats and rice flakes
melted jaggery - 3.5 tbsp
a pinch of salt
vanilla essence
butter or ghee- 2.5 tbsp
milk as required
baking powder - 1/8 tsp
Melt the jaggery. Strain it through a sieve. Add the butter and mix well. Add the essence too. Now add the ginger powder, powdered oats and rice flakes and the wheat along with the salt and baking powder. Mix slowly and form a dough. Add a tablespoon of milk or more if the dough is too hard. Rolling the dough is tough. So, just form a small round and use a cookie cutter or a bottle cap and form biscuits. Bake in a preheated oven/otg/cooker for about 12 minutes.
The biscuits will seem soft but will harden quickly.
Butter biscuits are easy to prepare
3 tablespoons of butter
orange essence
3/4 cup of flour
half cup of powdered sugar
orange food color if you like
Mix the butter and sugar and then add the flour, essence, and color and form a dough slowly. Form rounds with hand or use a cookie cutter. Bake in a preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
