The Trek To Periyar River
The Periyar river flows through our state, Kerala. It is indeed a mighty river, originating from western ghats and finally merging into the Arabian sea.
I can state facts but it would be just another version of what you would find on Wikipedia. So, I am relating a few personal details and posting pictures of our trek to see the river.

To prevent people from entering, a place most dangerous because of unseen undercurrents. There are quite a number of guards nowadays because of the increasing incidents of drowning. People do not give heed to warnings and jump into the water and get carried away, especially visitors from other places

The positive energy was awesome and the river and the sounds of nature made all the humans who were present, quite silent. everyone was enjoying the sheer force of the mighty river and the presence of nature. It was truly divine.
