The Pomelo fruit - the largest citrus fruit
The babloos naranga (Malayalam) known as Shaddock or Pomelo in English is the largest citrus fruit.
It is very rich in minerals and vitamins and therefore should be eaten with caution by people who are under medication.
As you can see, the fruit is huge and about the size of a small ball. The rind can be sliced with a knife. The one we have is a pink-colored fruit and is quite tasty.
I mentioned quite tasty because after chewing a bit and enjoying the sweetness, one can taste the sour taste also. It is quite heavy and a person cannot eat all of it at one go unlike an orange or other citrus fruits.
I have posted the picture of the peel so that you get an idea of the thickness in case you have not seen it.
The fruit is loaded with goodness and is said to heal wounds, lower blood pressure, is rich in B vitamins and helps slow aging.
Our planet is rich in fruits and vegetables and herbs that can help us heal quickly without the aid of chemicals.
Why then do we suffocate it with pesticides, chemical fertilizers, pollutants and so on?
It is time for the human to reverse the damage and help rebuild a green Earth.

Good morning @sayee, I don't see pomelo very often in the stores here
In Atlanta. I used to pounce on them when I'd see them, as I love
Grapefruit, (I peel and eat them like oranges) Now that I am a
Bit older and on more medications, I have to watch what
I eat, but I really REALLY loved eating these wonderful
Fruits. Thanks for reminding me of the goodness.
You are welcome dear.

We are at the end of citrus season here, but I do love them. Pomelos are harder to find here but i do like them!

Do you have lemons over there?
Oh gosh, we have lots of citrus where we are, and we could absolutely grow pomelos - we just tend not to. Lemons are very popular - lots of backyards have them. Oranges and mandarins are also commonly grown.
That sounds great.
I wish more people would wake up to the damage we are doing to the earth and realize how much she provides for us xx
Yes, true.
Ooh, I haven't had pomelo in a long time. We are just getting into citrus season here, so I'll have to look out for some. That mix of sweet and tart flavor is so yummy. I remember first buying one and not knowing what to do with it. :)
Hope you get it. :)
