The global temperatures have been on the rise for many decades now. And although it is often debated whether or not that is caused by humans, the fact still remains. The world is heating up.

According to scientists, data suggest that human activities like pumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere have caused global warming and climate change. Therefore, we are seeing increasingly extreme climate conditions and the rise of temperatures across the globe.

Many others have argued that this is not due to human activities. In my view, it is absolutely stupid and pointless to argue whether or not this was caused by humans. The focus should be on how to deal with it.

We need to act fast because if we don't, several parts of the world will become uninhabitable. Just recently, scientists said that new models have suggested that unless greenhouse gases are controlled, millions of people will be exposed to extremely high temperatures that could even cause organ failure.

An Uninhabitable Planet?

The risk of rising temperatures is higher for developing nations. In the future, if things continue the same way, even working outdoors could become a hazardous activity. This sure sounds like something you would expect on other planets that don't have an atmosphere or oxygen for us to breathe.

In such extreme temperatures, the human body suffers a "heat stress" which is a condition where the organs of the body shut down. So, you could imagine the severity of the situation that we could be dealing with in the not so distant future.

The worst part is that nothing concrete is being done to deal with this problem. This is a problem that would require huge changes in the way we live and work. Change on that scale would require a lot of time.

And time is something we might not have. So, there is a need for governments of the world to come together and do something about this urgently or we may not even have a planet to live on in the coming centuries!
