Another Day On The Job

in #military10 years ago

I don't see how people could work in a cubicle farm for more than a couple of years. I am a Instructor/Writer for the Army helping write doctrine to train future Soldiers, and as I sit here in this little confined space, it amazing me how one does not go postal doing it. For the last 11 years I was actually doing soldier things; training in the field, going to Iraq or Afghanistan to support the United States mission. Upon returning from Germany I am sent to a base where I just sit behind a computer and update doctrine and help teach new soldiers every now and then. It amazing how you can be so use to having situations that have your heart pumping constantly (realistic training or combat) then out of no where get thrown into a place like this. Might sound like I am crying, but it seems to me that there should be a system put into play that would allow Soldiers returning from these combat zones help them transition into a life like this. There are some small programs the Army has but it does not do the job. I myself have no idea where I would start on working on something like this, but it might be a good idea. So enough of my ranting, I am hoping soon to get started on working my A+ certification for computer hardware, so I am pretty excited about that. Hopefully when I am out of the military these certifications will help me land a medicore job somewhere out in society. I love the army, but it has turned into system of ass kissing and being a "yes man". Espically where I am at, its all about politics and looking out for oneself. Well that is enough ranting and raving for the day. I plan on posting something else in the next couple of days that may be a little more worth reading. Thank you to whoever decides to read this, just me typing it makes me feel somewhat better.
