Test winter tires for SUV-th 2017/2018

During the winter tests ADAC were selected 16 models winter tires for SUV models. The test tires size 215/65 R16 and are designed for many of the most popular compact crossovers on the market in Europe.

The vehicles, which have been made trials are VW Tiguan, and the selected brands of tires - Uniroyal MS Plus 77, Sava Eskimo HP2, Pirelli Scorpion Winter, Nokian WR D4, Nankang Snow SV-2, Michelin Alpin 5, Hankook i * Sept RS2 W452, goodyear UltraGrip Performance Gen-1, Fulda Kristall Control HP2, Firestone Destination Winter, Dunlop Winter Sport 5, Continental WinterContact TS 850 P SUV, BFGoodrich g-Force Winter 2, Barum Polaris 3, Avon WV7 and Apollo Apterra Winter.

In the test of ADAC participate and experts from organizations ÖAMTC and Touring Club Switzerland (TCS). Final results are not excellent. 14 tires receive assessment "satisfactory" and only one tire - "good". There are tires that are defined as "not recommended." The output of the brands Bridgestone and Semperit is not included in the test due to the lack of such free sale during the tests.

So the best winter tire for SUV-so as ADAC are Dunlop Wintersport 5 . All other inferior in one way or another, but rather as "not recommended" by ADAC experts set tires Nankang Snow SV-2 . The results of wet snow production of Nankang defined as "catastrophic."
