Fiorestella, Blue flowers. [Ing- Eng[]

Ipheion Uniflorum è il nome di questo delicatissimo fiore blu o bianco, conosciuto anche con il nome di Starflower, Spring Starflower.
La recente nomenclatura botanica però è Tristagma e quindi potreste ritrovarlo anche con questo nome.
Appartenente alla famiglia degli Amaryllis ho acquistato i suoi piccoli bulbi tempo fa e , puntuale ogni anno , ricompare con i suoi delicatissimi fiori.
Quindi è un fiore che fotografo spesso e volentieri e , in questo post vi mostro alcune foto.

Origine di questo fiore è Argentina dove è stato scoperto nel 1830, e non è di grandi dimensioni, massimo 10 – 15 cm di altezza.
I bulbi si svegliano a primavera ed è considerata una fioritura precoce.
Le diverse cultivar che ormai sono state selezionate per la commercializzazione d i questo bel fiore hanno vari colori che si collocano nella gamma del violetto - blu. Esistono anche delle varietà rosa e bianco e persino una molto rara dal colore giallo.
Il nome Fiorestella richiama la sua forma stellare e, in genere uno stelo posta un solo fiore la cui corolla è formata da 6 sepali.
Il nome Ipheion deriva dal nome greco di una pianta citata da Aristotele e utilizzata come verdura.
Mentre la parte di nome uniflorum è relativo al fatto che lo stelo porta una sola infiorescenza.

Leggermente profumato di miele il suo fogliame, foglie a nastro dal colore verde brillante, contribuisce a rendere molto particolare questo fiore e molto a adatto per essere collocate in parti leggermente ombrose e riparate.
I bulbi, non sono molto cari, circa 5 euro è il costo di una busta di 50 bulbi, sono piccoli e quindi devono essere piantati non troppo in profondità seguendo la regola base di una profondità pari a 3 volte la dimensione del bulbo.
Questi fiori non amano la siccità e quindi assicuratevi che abbiano una buona umidità nel terreno che gli accoglie.
Io in genere non tolgo mai i bulbi i questo fiore a fioritura avvenuta anche perché così si moltiplicano senza problemi.
Posso dire che si tratta di una pianta piacevole e facile da coltivare e anche molto bella da fotografare.

The name Ipheion derives from the Greek name of a plant mentioned by Aristotle and used as a vegetable. While the uniflorum part is related to the fact that the stem carries only one inflorescence.

Slightly scented with honey, its foliage, bright green ribbon leaves, helps to make this flower very particular and very suitable for being placed in slightly shady and sheltered parts.
The bulbs are not very expensive, about 5 euros is the cost of a bag of 50 bulbs, they are small and therefore must be planted not too deep following the basic rule of a depth equal to 3 times the size of the bulb.
They do not like drought and therefore make sure they have good humidity in the soil that welcomes them.
In general, I never remove the bulbs in this flower once they bloom, also because they multiply without problems.
I can say that it is a pleasant and easy plant to grow and also very beautiful to photograph.
