It is a very common flower in my region ... loves sun and wind and is recovering well from drought.

Plumbago is a climbing plant that stands out for its vigor and its ability to withstand the climatic conditions that are not so easy on my terrace. Sun and wind do not bother him much and, after a nice watering, he returns his beauty.
The color of its flowers is a very delicate sky blue. There is a variety called 'Royal Cape' which is darker and does not lack the white variety. There should also be a red variety, but I can tell you nothing about it.

This you see is a photo taken in a park of a villa located on an island in a lake in Northern Italy.

Curious the origin of its name which is linked to the Latin word Plumbum (which means lead). In fact, this flower recalls lead blue and it was also believed that it could cure lead poisoning.
Its cut flowers are very beautiful when combined with white flowers like jasmine or wild carrot. Unmistakable for its inflorescences formed by flowers composed of 5 petals.

I find this combination of blue flowers and very particular green foliage.
