I love travelling! I enjoy seeing different people and their cultures. I want to know about their beliefs, what is important to them and how they live in their communities. Travelling makes me think about life with a different perspective, it helps me be more open minded.
I am always curious about India. Huge size, diverse ethnic groups, diverse climate and topography have made this country a focal point of interest. I arrived in Delhi by plane on 11-02-2022. After completing the necessary work in two days, I went out to see Delhi.
# Delhi, the capital of India, is not just a city but a thousand year old historical city. There is no country in the world where people cannot be found in Delhi. Geographically, politically, culturally, socially, economically diverse areas. The National Capital Region (NCR) is made up of many towns, villages and forests, mainly along the Aravalli Range and in the Doab region of the Ganges-Jamuna. Delhi NCR has a total area of 55,063 sq km and a population of about 4.60 crore. Interestingly, NCR is made up of the following areas which cover different states such as Old Delhi, New Delhi, Gurgaon in Haryana, Noida in Uttar Pradesh, Ghaziabad and Faridabad and some areas in Rajasthan. However, the Delhi Metropolitan alone has an area of 1464.00 sq km and a population of 1.90 crore.
The capital region is rich in greenery, flowering trees and ample space. The Indira Gandhi International Airport is as big as the service. Wide smooth roads, elevated expressways, full of flyovers have not seen much traffic in the city though the number of cars on the roads is innumerable. We reached our destination within the stipulated time and Uber, auto, taxi, public bus service is also quite good. The management and service of Delhi Metrorail is quite good.
The NCR authorities and the state government have largely succeeded in building a planned and environmentally friendly Delhi which is a reflection of the long term plan and its implementation.
Travel to Delhi
Through a travel agency, I went out on a tourist bus for a day-long tour program to see various sites in Delhi which are very briefly described-
##01. Lakshi Narayan Temple -
This magnificent temple was built between 1935-1945. It would be nice to see a temple building made entirely of high quality marble. Lots of Hindus come to worship at this temple.
##02. Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate:

The 340-room building on 321 acres of land in the Raisina Hill area of Delhi is the office and residence of the President of India. Construction began in 1912 and was completed in 1929. During the British rule it was the residence of the governor. Its aesthetic architecture will impress anyone. Nearby is the India Gate. However, due to security restrictions, it is not possible to go near it.

The main minaret is 63 meters high and there are mosques and tombs in this complex. A thousand years of wonders are hidden behind the minarets and other structures.
##05. Lotus Temple :

There are no idols or symbols of any deity in this temple. Here in the huge hall room people of all religions can meditate or pray in their own way.
##06. Tomb of Mahatma Gandhi

##07. Red Fort

The red fort is the marvelous feat of Emperor Shah Jahan. When he moved the capital from Agra to Delhi in 1838, construction began and was completed in 1848. Its architect is Ustad Ahmed Lahori. The sandstone fort covers an area of 255 acres. Inside it are Dewan-i-Am, Khas, Matimahal, Hiramahal, Mosque, Hammamkhana. The fort has two gates named Lahori and Delhi.
##07. Jame Mosque in Delhi

Another of the great monuments of Emperor Shah Jahan was the Delhi Jame Mosque, which was built in 1844-1857. The mosque, built of sandstone and white marble, is 30 feet above the ground and can accommodate 25,000 people at a time. The mosque has 3 marble domes, 2 minarets and 4 towers. There are 3 aesthetic gates to enter the mosque where one has to climb 35 steps to get up. Islamic calligraphy, verses and hadiths are painted on the walls of the mosque.
There are also Yantarmantar Maidan, Nizamuddin Auliya's shrine, Akshardham temple, Gurgaon and Noida's modern IT and electronic city.
This is the end of my journey. And I am very much happy about my journey. Hope you like my experience on my journey.
