WI vs IND 2nd ODI : Another Last Over Thriller...

Right after the tour in England, the Indian Cricket Team flew to the Caribbean... not to have a holiday but to play a cricket tournament. Actually, it cost almost 3 Crores of Indian Rupees for that flight. And it seems like the Indian Cricket Team is doing justice for that money.

A few days ago, the ODI series started. The first game was a last-over thriller. India scored 308 in their 50 overs. Shikhar Dhawan just missed her Century. And in the chase, the Windies were strong. But eventually, smart bowling and excellent keeping of Sanju Samson paved the way for India to win.

And the second game, the Windies came to bat with so many hopes. And openers were able to deliver. They were able to deliver for their country after a while. They made 65 runs for the first wicket. Then Shai Hope became to anchor of the Windies' innings and other batsmen scored with him.

In the interim, Shai Hope scored yet another Century. The specialty is it was his 100th ODI match. So he became one of the few batsmen to score a century at the 100th ODI match. Kumar Sangakkara is also in the list.

He ended up scoring 115 runs. Captain Nicolas Pooran Scored 77 runs to seal up the innings to a good total, 311. So, India got a target of 312 runs. Their start was also good but any player was unable to be the anchor of the innings. That's why they were slowed down at the 20-over mark.

Then Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson made a really good partnership. That became the anchor of Indian Chase. But wickets fell in regular intervals. So Indian Inning needed another anchor to bat with tail-enders..

That's when Axar Patel stood.. he batted with tail-enders really well. His wicket was the wicket that the Windies needed but Axar Patel didn't play risky. He played safe. His footwork was great when coming down the wicket.

The required rate was around 10 in the last 5 overs. and he hit sixes and fours like a top-order batsman. That's what was impressive about his innings. He scored his half-century by 27 balls. And he brought the win for his team by hitting a sixer and it was great to watch.

Axar Patel had taken a wicket. So he was named the Player of the Match. Windies was desperate for this win. But at the death overs, Windes bowlers were not that neat. They bowled No balls and Wide deliveries. And that cost them the series...
