Tech Blog #112 | iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro - Non-Pro Version is Questioned..

Apple announced its iPhone 15 series, including its four smartphones. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro are two of Apple's latest smartphone offerings, which balance the old features and new features in a budget-friendly way with some key differences that set them apart. The other two versions are just bigger versions of these devices. Here's a comparative review of these devices.

Both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro feature a premium build quality with a textured matte finish and a contoured edge on the aluminum frame. They come in five new colors, adding a touch of personalization for users. The design is sleek and modern, typical of Apple's aesthetic approach. As always, it comes with Ceramic Shield display protection and Dust & Water Resistance.

One of the key differences between the two models is the display. The iPhone 15 has a display with up to 2,000-nit peak outdoor brightness, a significant improvement over the previous generation. However, the iPhone 15 Pro takes it a step further with a 120Hz LTPO OLED display, offering smoother animations and interactions. Additionally, the Pro model retains the exclusive Always-On Display (AOD) feature, providing at-a-glance information. The regular model is still on a 60Hz display..BUMMERR..

The iPhone 15 is powered by the A16 Bionic chipset, which is an iteration over the A15 used in the previous generation. It offers improved performance but remains an incremental upgrade. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro features the all-new 3nm Apple A17 Pro chip, which promises significant gains in CPU and GPU performance. This performance gap is further highlighted by the 2GB RAM difference between the two models, with the Pro having 8GB of RAM compared to the 6GB in the standard iPhone 15.

Both phones offer camera improvements compared to their predecessors. The iPhone 15 boasts a 48MP main camera, which is smaller than the one found in the Pro models. While it doesn't have an actual telephoto snapper, Apple claims it can capture "optical-quality" 2x telephoto shots. The Pro models, including the iPhone 15 Pro, feature a larger 48MP main sensor with improved stabilization and exclusive access to ProRAW image capturing. These models offer advanced photography capabilities, including computational photography enhancements. The best thing is now you can record videos from 4K@60fps.

Both devices promise "all-day battery life," but the specific battery capacities are not mentioned. And there was no special mention of improved charging capabilities in these smartphones. So same old 15W wired Charging and 7.5W Wireless Charging speeds have to be expected. But the best thing is now iPhones have get rid of Lightning Port. But here also, the vanilla version has USB-C 2.0 while the Pro having USB-C 3.0.

The iPhone 15 starts at $799 / €949, while the iPhone 15 Pro starts at $999 / €1,149. The pricing difference reflects the gap in features and performance between the two models.

The choice for the iPhone 15 is debatable. I don't think there would be any significant difference between iPhone 13, iPhone 14 & iPhone 15 considering their specs. I mean, the iPhone 15 will have a bright display and Dynamic Island with slightly improved cameras and performance. But I don't think it is worth the extra bucks. However, if you value cutting-edge performance, a higher refresh-rate display, and advanced camera features, the iPhone 15 Pro offers a more premium experience, although at a higher price point. Apple's decision to differentiate its Pro and non-Pro models gives users the flexibility to choose the device that best suits their needs and budget.

I think it’s not so important what kind of iPhone you have, but what’s more important is how you organize your work and life with it. Still, functionality is more important to me than the model of the device. Now I'm organizing work time https://setapp.com/how-to/best-scheduling-app-for-mac . Various software and apps help me a lot with this.
