Entertainment Blog #108 | Normal People [2022] - Not a Normal Love Story...

Most English romance series are based on supernatural backgrounds. Vampire diaries and Teen Wolf are some of them. And the normal romance series are quite dull. But I found this one interesting.

"Normal People" is a miniseries from 2020. It was co-developed by BBC Network and Hulu. It consists of 12 episodes. So the story goes around college and university life of Connell and Marianne which are starred by Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones.

Talking about the Story..

Connell and Marianne are in age and they Wentworth to the same high school. Marianne's family is rich and Connell's mother is working at Marianne's house. Both Connell and Marianne are smart and Marianne is not that socialized at school because she thinks like she's the smartest at the class.

Connell slowly enters Marianne's life and they start a relationship but they agrees on each other not to tell the friends at school because they think it would be awkward for Marianne to love the son of the housemaid at her house.

Marianne got good grades and she enters Trinity College and with that.. their relationship kind of came to a dead end. But things get tense when Connell also gets selected to Trinity College. Connell becomes this bright student at the college and Marianne is complicated with relationships..

So how will reentering of of Connell into Marianne's life affect the both? And where will all this end? It's up to you to find out..

My Experience..

This series is far different from most romance stories I've seen. Most Romance stories tend to stick to the same geography. But this one goes around.. It doesn't stick to the same town as in Virgin River or Vampire Diaries. And this series goes deep.. deep into complicated relationships and you should not probably watch it with family members.

Ratings..

They are quite good. I mean the performance of Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones were highly praised. Even they were nominated for a few awards. The story feels deep.. it's psychological.. I think that's what people like about it..
